Make the City website multi-lingual
The city needs to support multi-lingual. We have people from various parts of the world come here and it would be nice to be able to read in their native language (for example, Mandarin, Gujarati, Spanish, etc.)

I like the idea of some type of a home page that is multilingual; it would show to the world the rich diversity of our community and it would welcome those in our midst who arrive from cultures outside of Canada. That said, I can't see how the city has the resources or the time to translate the thousands of web pages into a multiplicity of languages. If this were the Martimes, where both English and French, are prevalent, it would make sense. If this were Miami, then it would make sense to produce pages in both English and Spanish. In this region, it makes less sense since there is no a second language that is so dominant. Don't underestimate the costs of translating and then proofing thousands of pages, some of which change regularly. However, a multilingual welcome page is a great idea.
